Meet Dr. Nina Walsh

BIO

Dr. Nina Walsh grew up in Moscow, Russia where she was surrounded by nature, herbs, and traditional Russian healing methods, as well as modern medicine from early childhood. Her mother was a surgeon and her great uncle was the president of a major medical school, so allopathic and alternative medicine were both part of her upbringing. Her burning curiosity about foreign cultures drew her to language school where she studied English, German, Italian, and Swedish.

Her mother was diagnosed with breast cancer when Nina was a student, and died few years later. The realization that Western medicine alone did not help her mother had a profound impact on Nina. Her mother had been a selfless doctor and teacher of medicine working around the clock helping people. Seeing her mother die so young taught Nina that balance and self-care are crucial for good health. She moved to the United States where she began studying health and prevention, juicing, nutrition therapies, herbs, breath practices, yoga, etc as treatment for herself and friends while running a business in international commerce for many years. Ultimately, Nina realized that helping people achieve greater vitality was her true calling, and enrolled at Bastyr University to pursue degrees in Naturopathic Medicine and in Acupuncture, for a career truly aligned with her values and interests.

After five years of study and an externship at the University of Traditional Chinese Medicine in Shanghai, China, Nina graduated from Bastyr in 2008 with a dual degree in Naturopathic Medicine and Acupuncture and East-Asian Medicine.

In 2008 she opened Flow Natural Medicine and Acupuncture in Bellevue, WA with a focus on disease prevention, wellness, women’s health, detoxification, longevity and regenerative medicine. She brings her caring attitude, knowledge of traditional and modern medicine, her listening and diagnostic skills to work with every patient.

Nina continues to augment her training whenever possible, including earning a special certification in Use of Western and Chinese Herbal Medicine in Oncology; IV therapy; Bio-identical Hormone Therapy; Ozone Therapy; Regenerative Medicine. In addition to caring for her patients in Bellevue, WA, Nina has organized wellness retreats in the Caribbean, New Mexico, and Washington, does guest speaker appearances on radio podcasts and talks at Association of Holistic Skincare Practitioners, Key Pharmacy, Cornish School of the Arts, among many others, and volunteers with the Wellness Program for Seniors by King County. In her spare time she enjoys dancing tango, gardening, being in nature, travel, cooking, and being with her family and pets.
